Dr. Pillow did his undergraduate at Rice University, received his MD from Baylor College of Medicine, and graduated from the emergency medicine residency at the University of Chicago. He has since also completed a Master’s in education at the University of Houston. He is an energetic, popular, and engaging teacher of residents, medical students, and physician assistant students. He has received numerous honors and awards including the Fulbright and Jaworski Educational Leadership Award, the John P. McGovern Outstanding Teaching Award for the Clinical Sciences, the Fullbright and Jaworski Teaching and Evaluation Award, and several others. His contributions to simulation for medical students have led 2 teams to international championships and another team which took 3rd place internationally, all in the past 4 years. He has also judged other regional simulation competitions.
