Jake Valentine is an emergency medicine resident at Johns Hopkins. Jake is a product of Albany, NY and proud alumnus of Albany High School. His mother, Jennifer McErlean, is a philosophy professor at Siena College in Upstate New York. Jake followed in her footsteps by graduating from Tufts University with a Bachelor’s degree in philosophy. Like any good philosopher, he faced two options upon graduation; teaching, or going back to school. He combined both, developing a passion for medical student education. When not teaching, learning, or lost deep in thought, Jake enjoys traveling to the National Parks with his fiancé, Amanda Greaves. Their favorite day-trip was hiking the Bright Angel Trail of the Grand Canyon.
