SIMS organizes several competitions each year. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter to ensure you know about new competitions near you. Several other organizations also host exciting competitions that are held at large medical conferences. Read on below about some of our favorites.
SIMS Conference and Competition
Join us for the second annual SIMS Conference! Last year, hundreds of students attended from all over the country for a full day of high-fidelity competition cases and multiple skills labs including cricothyrotomies, lumbar punctures, central lines, and basic skills (e.g. airway management, suturing, I&D abscess training). Each year SIMS hosts a regional competition for Texas medical students at the TCEP Connect convention. Stay tuned for more information about the 2019 competition!
This competition has traditionally been open only to emergency medicine residents. However, in recent years there has been increased interest in involving medical students in a student SIM Wars. We'll stay tuned and let you know if there's an opportunity for students to compete at the annual ACEP and SAEM meetings.
