Danielle Glaze is a fourth-year medical student in the Physician-Scientist Honors Track at Rocky Vista University College of Osteopathic Medicine (RVU) in Colorado. She was born and raised in the Florida panhandle and completed her B.S. in Biology at the University of North Florida. During her second-year of medical school, Danielle joined a team of fellow students interested in simulation and competed in AMSA’s National Sim Challenge in Washington, DC. After realizing the importance of simulation education through these experiences, she created a student-run simulation program at RVU that utilizes student instructors who teach interactive, hands-on workshop-style experiences for participants to apply medical knowledge and clinical skills to complicated patient scenarios. As a Co-Leader for the SIMS West Region, Danielle hopes to help other schools to develop and expand their own simulation education programs and create simulation-related research projects for their students. After medical school, she plans to pursue a career in academic emergency medicine. Her hobbies and interests outside of medicine include gardening, fishing, and boating.
