Alessandra
Della Porta is a second year medical student at the University of Miami, and the founder and President of her medical school’s simulation interest group. Prior to medical school, Alessandra worked as an EMT, where she was first exposed to case-based simulation
during her training. Her current projects include expanding her simulation interest group and studying the ways in which medical simulation can be used as a training modality for understanding the impact of many social determinants of health. After medical
school, she hopes to pursue a residency in emergency medicine and continue her work with medical education. Outside of school and simulation, Alessandra loves to throw pottery and spend time with her twin sister, who is also in medical school.
